Reading No Exit was an exercise in cinematic writing. Whose fault is that really? Mine? Because of my choices? Get out of here! I don’t want to hear it! And thank the god of thunder, because I was starting to get a little cranky as nothing has really been knocking my bits off. This is my first five-star read of the year. Or maybe not if your into saving lives.Filed Under: Did we learn nothing about isolated rest stops from Michael Meyers?! I felt the story is an eye opener for rest stops and minding your own business. While I’m not going into too much details about “No Exit”, I want you to know that I did truly enjoy this read. But the saying is “Fight or Flight” for a reason right? Darby definitely fights. However, I believe Darby is probably a bit more braver than I could ever have been.

Darby risk it all for a child she doesn’t yet know and I too know that I would do the same if put into the situation. I felt like I could have been Darby, in the sense that she’s very much trustworthy of everyone, even the bad guys. At one point I trusted NO ONE in this novel, including the author, Taylor Adams. I felt like I was rushed through this book so that I could learn what was the truth. No Exit was full of craziness, suspense and not so trustworthy rest stop patrons. But which one? Trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation, with a child’s life and her own on the line, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape.

One of her fellow travelers is a kidnapper. Who is the child? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her? There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, and no way out. In the back of the van parked next to her car, a little girl is locked in an animal crate. Desperate to find a signal to call home, Darby goes back out into the storm. Inside are some vending machines, a coffee maker, and four complete strangers. With the roads impassable, she’s forced to wait out the storm at a remote highway rest stop. On her way to Utah to see her dying mother, college student Darby Thorne gets caught in a fierce blizzard in the mountains of Colorado. Have you, like me, seen all the buzz “No Exit” has brought?! So much!!! I knew I had to read this novel and I’m so glad that I did.
